Joe Reed is a West Texas native raised in the small town of Lorenzo. At Lorenzo High School, Joe was an All-State quarterback which earned him an athletic scholarship to Baylor University. He earned his varsity letter in his sophomore year before transferring to Mississippi State University. Joe finished at MSU with a BS degree in Engineering but never used his degree because he realized his boyhood dream of becoming a quarterback in the NFL. He spent the next nine years with the San Francisco 49er's and the Detroit Lions before retiring in 1979.

After football, he moved into the area of commercial real estate specializing in the sale and management of apartment complexes. Joe established a network of quality professionals who worked together to complete successful projects. After seven years in the real estate field, he moved into investments dealing with the development, monitoring and consulting of individuals and small businesses with their financial strategies.

Currently Joe is operating his own investment firm, Sterling Wealth Management where he brings over 30 years of investment and insurance experience derived through his previous associations with Prudential, Morgan Stanley and Investor Services. In addition to his previous listed experiences, Joe was a professional gospel recording artist performing across the country and Canada as well as with the Billy Graham Crusades. He has produced four albums and is currently providing music entertainment for senior living facilities around the Austin, TX area.
